The Main Street Approach is proven and effective.

The Main Street America Four Point Approach is a proven way to help bring life back to communities. It focuses on four key areas: organization, promotion, design, and economic vitality. By bringing people together, creating fun events to bring in visitors, fixing up buildings to make the area more attractive and supporting local businesses, this method helps towns grow stronger and more welcoming. Many communities across the country have used this approach to turn struggling areas into thriving places where people want to live, work, and visit.

3 WAYS YOU CAN HELP YOUR COMMUNITY

ATTEND AND PROMOTE

Main Street Ottumwa Promotions and Organization Committees host many events throughout the year to engage the community and bring attention to our local businesses. Add your favorites to your calendar and plan to attend so that future generations will grow up with the experience of participating in local events.

SHOP LOCAL

Reduce environmental impact, create more jobs, and invest in yourself.   Studies show that money spent locally is more likely to stay local, and be spent again within the community, helping to foster the growth and economic stability of your local community.
