Utilizing appropriate design concepts, the visual quality of the downtown (buildings, signs, window displays, landscaping, and environment) is enhanced.

The Design Committee focuses on second story rehabs, historical preservation, streetscape improvements, facade improvements, the building of more housing downtown, etc.

Some of the activities coming up for this committee in the next year:

• building inventory downtown

• upper story tours

• state historical preservation workshop

• hanging flower baskets in downtown district

• local building code

• Facade Improvement Program
